Bar Awards Funds to Worthy Causes
During the Calhoun-Cleburne County Bar Association's annual Law Day Bar Luncheon, the Bar Association recognized the valuable contributions of two local organizations: Crime Stoppers and the Success Academy.

Crime Stoppers is a local--and global--organization that allows citizens to report information about crimes anonymously.  If the information leads to an arrest and conviction, an anonymous tip can often lead to a cash reward.

The Success Academy is administered by the Juvenile Court of Calhoun County, and funded by the Department of Youth Services (DYS).  The purpose of the Academy is to provide educational and therapeutic opportunities to juvenile offenders in lieu of committing them to the custody of the Department of Youth Services.

In recognition of their efforts and in support of their continued growth, the Bar awarded $1,000.00 to Crime Stoppers and $250.00 to the Success Academy.
